Catawba College

Hood Theological Seminary
The Seminary offers four graduate degree programs. The Master of Divinity (MDiv) is the major program of the Seminary. It is designed to provide a well-rounded preparation for ordained ministry with concentrations in Biblical Studies, History of Christianity, Theology and Social Ethics, Christian Education, Pastoral Care and Counseling, and Preaching and Worship. The Master of Theological Studies (MTS) program grounds students in the Christian religious heritage while training them in the skills of critical thinking and academic writing. It is accordingly designed to serve those who desire a better understanding of the Christian faith for the purposes of personal edification, teaching, and/or preparation for doctoral studies. The Master of Arts in Chaplaincy is for individuals who desire to develop an approach to spiritual care, who possess authentic concern for humankind, and who desire to gain academic and clinical knowledge regarding the spiritual, caregiver, emotional, pastoral support and chaplain roles in diverse contexts. The Doctor of Ministry (DMin) is the highest degree awarded by the Seminary. Students have the option of pursuing a general Doctor of Ministry degree or specializing in Pastoral Theology and Care, Leadership Ministry, or Community Advocacy and Social Justice Ministry, Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), and Homiletics and Preaching. Hood also offers three graduate certificate programs: General Theological Studies Certificate Program; Biblical Studies Certificate Program; and the Certificate in United Methodist Studies. In addition, the Seminary offers non-degree/audit classes. Each of these programs accentuates a ministry to the total person and seeks to foster a dynamic relationship among the many disciplines and competencies which undergird effective Christian ministry.

Rowan Cabarrus Community College
Rowan-Cabarrus Community College prepares individuals for careers in approximately 40 programs of study in business, health and public services, and industrial and engineering technologies. The college also offers the Associate in Arts, Associate in Fine Arts and Associate in Science degree programs for those students who intend to transfer to a four-year college or university.
